Unit 7 Feelings/Emotions

Happy Song

This is a happy face

Dear K1 Dora Parents,

I am excited to share that this week our K1 class will begin Unit 7: Feelings, where we will explore and learn new vocabulary to help students express their emotions. The key words we will focus on are happy, sad, sleepy, and hungry. We will also extend the vocabulary to include tired and angry.

Our goal is for the children to confidently express how they are feeling each day. I will be regularly asking, "How are you feeling today?" to encourage them to share their emotions and the reasons behind them. This practice will help promote language development while also fostering an environment where the students feel secure and comfortable expressing themselves.

To further support this, we will incorporate songs and chants related to feelings and emotions during our daily lessons. These fun activities will reinforce the vocabulary and make learning about feelings an enjoyable experience.

We look forward to seeing our K1 students grow in their ability to communicate how they feel and develop greater self-awareness.

Dear K1 Parents,

We are excited to inform you that the K1 class will be participating in a Singing Competition in the coming weeks! This event presents a wonderful opportunity for your children to showcase their growing confidence, musical skills, and teamwork in front of an audience.

To prepare for the competition, we will be practicing the selected songs during our lessons. However, we kindly ask for your support and encouragement at home to help your child feel even more prepared and confident. Practicing at home, even for just a few minutes each day, will greatly contribute to their performance and overall experience.

Here are a few ways you can support your child’s preparation:

Encourage regular practice: Singing the competition songs at home can help boost their confidence and familiarity with the lyrics and rhythm.

Create a positive environment: Praise your child's efforts and let them know you’re proud of their hard work, no matter the outcome of the competition.

We believe that this competition will be a fun and enriching experience for the children, and your involvement plays a key role in their success. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to your child’s learning journey.

If you have any questions or need further details about the competition, please feel free to reach out to me.

Warm regards,

K1 Teaching Team

Ms. Jeannie

Ms. Velo

Mr. Jason
