Unit 6 My Day

 songs and chants

Dear Parents,

I am excited to inform you that our K1 Dora class will begin a new unit titled My Day. In this unit, the children will be learning important vocabulary words   "morning," "night," "nap time," and "bedtime." Through engaging activities, they will explore the differences between morning and night and how nap time differs from bedtime.

Additionally, students will be introduced to new vocabulary and sentence patterns that connect these keywords. We will incorporate songs and chants to make learning fun and interactive, helping to reinforce the concepts in a meaningful way.

Watching the children grow into inquisitive, confident learners has been truly rewarding, and I am excited to see how much they will continue to develop in this new unit.

Dear K1 Parents,

The holiday season is upon us, and we are thrilled to announce that our K1 students have chosen a festive favorite, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," as their Christmas performance song and dance! This delightful number will not only showcase their growing confidence but also their showmanship and speaking skills.

To help your child prepare for this exciting performance, we encourage you to practice the song and simple dance moves at home. We’ve provided a video link to guide you in supporting them as they learn the lyrics and choreography. This will ensure that they feel comfortable and confident on stage.

Our K1 students are eager to perform their very first show just for you! Your encouragement and involvement will make this experience even more memorable for them.

We can’t wait to see you at the performance and share in the joy of the season together!

October Update

I am delighted to share some wonderful news about the K1 student's progress in our K1 Dora class! Over the past few weeks, I have noticed significant improvements in their willingness to speak and use the English vocabulary they have learned. It’s truly a joy to see them express themselves with confidence and enthusiasm.

In addition to their growing language skills, the children are actively participating in classroom activities, especially enjoying the songs and chants we practice. Many of them have been dancing and singing along to their favorite songs, making our lessons even more lively and enjoyable.

I encourage you to talk to your child about what they learned each day by asking; what colors did you learn, what is your favorite color?  Can you find something in the room or house that is red, yellow, green, or blue? What numbers did you learn, can you count to 5 for me?  Ask them about the songs, the vocabulary, or even their favorite parts of the lessons. This will help reinforce their learning and allow them to practice speaking in English outside the classroom.

Thank you for your continued support and for encouraging your child’s love of learning. I look forward to more exciting progress as we continue our journey together!
