When I Grow Up Lyrics

Dear K1 Parents,

As we prepare for our upcoming performance, we kindly ask for your support at home. Please play the audio provided and encourage your child to sing along with the video. This will help them become more confident with the lyrics and improve their pronunciation.

We understand that the end of the year is a busy time for everyone, and we truly appreciate your continued support and partnership. Your involvement makes a big difference in helping the children feel prepared and proud of their efforts.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Lyrics
When I grow up
I wanna be an astronaut
Take a walk on the moon with my pet robot
Take a rocket ship and just fly away
When I grow up
I wanna be a fireman
Putting out those fires anywhere I can
Saving kittens out of trees on a sunny day
When I grow up, up, up
I can be whatever I want, want, want you'll see
Oh I know, I can be anything
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up
Up, up, up, up, up
When I grow up
I wanna wear a stethoscope
Helping all those people that have sore throats
Gonna chase those icky gross germs away
Yeah yeah
When I grow up
I'll take care of monkeys at the zoo
All the hippos and the pandas and the penguins, too
Oh I can't wait
When I grow up, up, up
I can be whatever I want, want, want you'll see
Oh I know, I can be anything
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up
Up, up, up, up, up
Until then I'll do my best to make good grades
When I grow up, up, up
I can be whatever I want, want, want you'll see
Oh I know, I can be anything
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up
Up, up, up, up, up
When I grow up, up, up, up
Up, up, up, up, up
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)
When I grow up, up, up, up (Hey)

Unit 10-Actions

Dear K1 Dora Parents,

As we approach the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous growth our K1 students have made—both socially and academically. It has been a joy to witness their development over the past months.

We are now concluding our final unit in the Dora books with Lesson 10, which focuses on verbs—action words such as walk, jump, clap, and dance. In addition to these, students will be introduced to many more action verbs as we continue expanding our vocabularies through engaging songs and lively chants. These activities not only reinforce language learning but also celebrate how far the students have come in their speaking and comprehension skills.

Our class is also working diligently to prepare for the upcoming song contest. The children have been practicing three songs with great enthusiasm, and I am truly impressed by their clarity, pronunciation, and growing confidence. Their speaking accuracy has improved remarkably, and it is evident that they are applying what they've learned in meaningful and joyful ways.

It has been a true honor to be part of your child’s academic journey in K1. I am so proud of each and every student for their progress and their bright, eager spirits; I am excited to see what the future holds for each of them academically.

Songs and Chants for Practice

 Dear Parents of K1,

The K1 Penguin Class has begun practicing our three selected songs for the upcoming singing competition. The children are very excited and already recognize the lyrics, as we have introduced these songs in previous lessons.

To help your child feel confident and prepared, we kindly ask that you support them by listening and singing along with the songs at home. They truly enjoy the music and are eager to perform.

I am so proud of each and every one of them. They are a bright, enthusiastic group of young learners, and it's a joy to see their confidence and love for singing grow each day.

Thank you for your continued support!

Unit 9 Pets

Unit 9: Caring for Pets and Learning About Animals

In Unit 9, our K1 students will be exploring the theme of pets and animal care. Through engaging lessons, they will learn key vocabulary words such as dog, cat, fish, and rabbit. In addition, we will introduce them to farm animals, including sheep, cow, horse, and duck, to broaden their understanding of the animal world.

As part of this unit, students will also begin to understand the responsibilities that come with caring for a pet. They will learn about the basic needs of animals — water, food, and shelter — and why it is important to meet these needs to keep pets healthy and happy.

To reinforce their learning, we will use a variety of songs, chants, and interactive activities that will help students recognize animal names and develop language skills in a fun and memorable way. This unit aims to build not only vocabulary but also a sense of empathy and responsibility as students learn about how to care for living things.

We look forward to seeing the students’ excitement and curiosity as they explore this meaningful topic.
