Dear Parents of K1 Group,
Welcome to the start of an exciting new school year! I am honored to have the opportunity to teach your child and be a part of their early learning journey. K1 is a foundational year where children develop key social, emotional, and academic skills that will set the stage for their future success.
I look forward to partnering with you in this important phase of your child’s growth, and self-confidence learning English.
Our Classroom Goals
This year, our primary focus will be on fostering a love for learning, building confidence, and developing important social skills. Our goals for your child include:
Social and Emotional Development: I will encourage your child to build friendships, share, take turns, and resolve conflicts. These skills are essential for creating a positive and supportive classroom community.
Language and Literacy: Through reading, storytelling, and engaging activities, I will work on developing your child's vocabulary, listening skills, and early reading and writing abilities using the DORA books.
Mathematical Thinking: We will explore numbers, shapes, patterns, and problem-solving in a hands-on and playful way, helping your child build a strong foundation in math, as we explore the fundamentals of English language.
Creative Expression: Art, music, and imaginative play will be a big part of our daily routine, allowing your child to express themselves creatively and develop fine motor skills building on thematic lessons.
Our Expectations
To ensure a successful school year, here are a few expectations that will help us work together effectively:
Attendance and Punctuality: Regular attendance is crucial for your child's learning. Please ensure your child arrives on time each day, ready to participate.
Communication: I value open communication with all families. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or insights about your child, please feel free to reach out. You can contact me via email, phone, or during scheduled conferences. I will also update you on your child’s progress and classroom activities through weekly newsletters and classroom apps.
Parent Involvement: Your involvement in your child’s education is key to their success. I encourage you to read with your child daily, engage in conversations about their day, and participate in classroom events whenever possible.
Positive Behavior: We will work together to create a classroom environment where kindness, respect, and responsibility are the norms. Reinforcing these values at home will help your child succeed in school and build positive relationships with their peers.
